Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith.

on October 30th, 2011 by Committed

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power… 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NIV)

As a preacher, evangelist, missionary or faithful follower, the above could either be daunting or motivating. Who is listening? Yet, how will they hear unless someone tells them? For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.  2 Timothy 4:3 (NLT) But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? Romans 10:14 (NLT)

As it all unfolds right before our eyes, do not be intimidated. Neither let deception cause you to be indifferent or distracted.

Focus: Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith.

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.  Colossians 3:2 (ESV) For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,.. Titus2:11-12 (NLT)
