Domestic Violence- Can he really change?

on March 24th, 2009 by Vision118

Beating women is just the newest addition to the culture of treating women like  possessions.  It’s like buying a new crib, new car or watch, or the newest rims for the ride!  A woman is just a possession! I get tired of seeing her. She’s no longer in fashion.  She comes today and then she’s gone tomorrow, she’s interchangeable, her value expires, today I’m happy with her tomorrow I’m not.  Next!  Now she’s getting on my nerves….she talks back.  She has an opinion?  I slap her to shut her up!  She does not complain…she knows who the boss is, she has no value…….no value….

Can an abuser be reformed?  Will he not continue to do the same thing?  Can counseling really work?  Is he really going to change?

Ok..so if you are the abused are you now going to sleep safe at night with both eyes closed, no longer expecting a slap, a punch, a kick, a bite!!??  Or will you always wonder when the next thing will make him snap?  Is it the woman’s fault if she doesn’t just up and leave?  Shouldn’t she JUST GO!  Should she tell her friends that the lovely man they see on her arm everyday is actually an animal?

Some experts say that women actually reverse in age during the time of abuse and will often act like children being reprimanded by a parent, which explains why they stay and claim to love their abusers.

Can a man change after he has been violent?  Once a beater always a beater?

What do you think?

…well I guess it depends on how fargone the abuser is…and at what point do you label someone an abuser? The Chris Brown / Rihanna had me asking this question. If a guy punches and bites a girl is he then an abuser or has he committed a violent act. Doesn’t the label require some frequency/pattern??? I mean, if you tell one lie are you then a liar and when someone says what do you think of so and so…do you say oh he’s a liar or she’s a liar?
