So, the Jamaica 50 celebrations kicked into high gear with the launch of the official Jamaica50 song “On a mission“. Of course, not without controversy. Some persons weighed in on the sound – not in keeping with our mento, ska, reggae, dancehall history. The song features contributing artistes Chevelle Franklin, Damian (Jr. Gong) Marley, Beres Hammond, Romain Virgo, Tarrus Riley, Wayne Marshall, Tessanne Chin, Assassin, Tifa and Shaggy.
